This hand and stone business model is a scam. They advertise that you are get an “hour” service. Out of the few times I’ve been here (gifted) - you are lucky to get 40 mins (at least this is my experience with the Clifton location). Appointments are stacked back to back to back so the customer is negatively impacted by the service provider wrapping up with their previous client. I attempted an early morning appointment to see if that made a difference and I’ve voiced my concerns in the past but it is still the same story. The providers are 50/50, some do a great job whereas others are robotic, not necessarily bad but not worthy of requesting their service again. Overall, I like the idea of the monthly membership but do not think you get your monies worth. In my honest opinion, small owned/non franchise is the way to go.
Between moving and visiting home, I've been to MANY Hand and Stone locations over the last 8 years. LaShay here at Clifton is TOP NOTCH!!!!!!! She's so knowledgeable about my skin and the products she uses: between monthly facials and good at-home products, I'm constantly getting compliments on my skin from friends, family, even random strangers. My skin has NEVER looked healthier, clearer, or more radiant since seeing her for about a year now. I also love how she'll answer your questions about your routine and help you make small tweaks depending on your needs without being "pushy" or trying to make a sale just to make a sale. Run, don't walk, and book LaShay!!!!
Also a shout-out to the whole front desk staff: I'm always treated so kindly and professionally. It's a treat from start to finish - one of my favorite parts of every month!!
I had the most amazing experience at Hand and Stone massage in Clifton, New Jersey.
Upon arrival I was greeted, properly seated, and then quickly shuffled in my room for my facial. I have the pleasure of being service by Janice, who was incredibly gentle and kind.
I walked away with the few Dermologicia products that were essential for my face upkeep, and I couldn’t be more satisfied.
If you rush to book Janice, save a spot for my return.
Jared is the best! I’ve been going to him for facials for over a year now, and my skin has made drastic improvements ever since. I used to struggle with my skin for years, and Jared helped me to feel confident with it like never before. Every visit he always took great care of my skin. He gave me amazing recommendations for my skin type and tracked my progress with what products worked and didn’t work. Highly recommend 100%!!
Called this morning with a hope to speak with my esthetician that did my facial last night, due to an awful skin reaction that I am having, however I was only provided with a an email to apparently a “lead esthetician.“
Hour later, after ringing more than 12 times to at least get a confirmation that my email has been sent and I will get a recommendation on how to stop this awful burning and pain, I cannot get in touch with anyone (mind you it’s 12 pm on a weekday and there are 3 front desk people). I also sent a voicemail, but nothing. Now I am on my way to them because it is easier to drive and call out from work than for them to have a decency to somehow HELP!!
Haven’t come across this unprofessionalism and hopefully never will. Shame on you Hand&Stone! Have been a loyal customer for years and you cannot even bother to help when I am in extreme pain!!!

This place FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED my debit card $149 without my consent AND refused to refund it when I called demanding MY MONEY back, claiming I signed up for a promotion that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE!!!! This franchise is corrupt and I quickly reported them to the Clifton police and will be filing a report with the BBB even when it gets resolved. What they are doing is against the law. How can you just take someone's money like that and think it is okay?! This location is a whole SCAM and I will never be back. DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT EVER PAY WITH YOUR DEBIT/CREDIT CARD UNLESS YOU WANT MONEY STOLEN FROM YOU!!!!!
I had deep cleansing facial yesterday, ida did my facial she was awesome,i love it . Receptionist were amazing kierra, suli, diandra they were awesome, Knowledgeable, Kind, friendly.
